Grow Your Business Reselling Customer Returns

January 26, 2021 By Carol Scheafer

It’s estimated that around five-six billion items get returned each year. This number has only grown in the past few months as consumers turn to online shopping to purchase more products. Unfortunately, shopping online doesn’t allow consumers to view and handle products in-person. This can lead to consumers being surprised by what they receive.

Although the reasons for returning items vary based on type of product and situation, the most common reasons include:

  • Items appearing different in person
  • Items do not fit properly
  • Receiving multiples of the same item as gifts
  • Item found at a better price at another location

Most of the items returned are unopened. Unfortunately, retail stores and online markets can no longer sell these items as new. Instead, they sell them at deeply discounted prices to companies like DT Lots.

Reselling Customer Returns

When done right, resellers can make a lot of money selling customer returns. Resellers can choose to sell through ecommerce websites, swap meets and flea markets, or through their own brick-and-mortar store. It’s not uncommon for small businesses to purchase large amounts of liquidation merchandise to keep their shelves stocked year-round.

Before deciding where to sell customer returns, it’s important to research which platforms have the greatest demand for your products. Start by searching popular websites and auction platforms to see what other people are selling. Checking “sold” items allows you to see how much money other resellers actually received for the products they offer. This is a great starting point for determining sale price and potential profit.

Where to Source Customer Returns

Individuals looking to make extra money or start a profitable business can purchase pallets or truckloads of customer returns from a secondary retailer. However, it’s important to locate a respected and trustworthy supplier.

Locate a liquidation supplier with years of experience offering quality merchandise for sale. Even if you don’t plan to offer different types of merchandise now, locating a supplier that offers a wide range of customer returns allows you to expand your offerings and grow your business in the future.

DT Lots has years of experience providing pallets and truckloads of customer returns from a wide range of categories including electronics, baby products, home goods, tools and hardware, and much more. Please contact us for more information about purchasing pallets of customer returns.

Increase Your Furniture Sales with Liquidation Furniture

January 19, 2021 By Carol Scheafer

Anyone in the furniture business knows how hard it is to stay ahead of the competition. With so many furniture companies around, it can be extremely hard to stand out above the rest. Resellers of furniture must keep their prices low and quality high. No one wants to purchase poor quality furniture that requires replacement after just a few months.

Furniture companies looking to reduce costs while maintaining quality could benefit from offering liquidation furniture for sale. Partnering with an experienced and trusted liquidation supplier helps ensure low prices and continuous availability of high quality, name brand furniture.

Wholesale Furniture Pallets

Businesses and resellers can purchase pallets or truckloads of liquidation furniture. These furniture pallets often include name brand furniture from leading retail stores. Furniture pallets may include office furniture, living room furniture, dining room furniture, home décor, and more.

What is Liquidation?

Liquidation merchandise includes customer returns, shelf pulls, open box merchandise, and overstock. Most of the goods in liquidation pallets are brand new. When resellers purchase from DT Lots, they can rest assured they’re getting high quality merchandise from some of the best brands available today.

High Quality Furniture for Sale

DT Lots offers a variety of high-quality merchandise for sale. In addition to liquidation furniture, we also offer office supplies, small appliances, home goods, and more. Partnering with DT Lots allows resellers to offer additional products to compliment their wholesale furniture offerings. This can help attract new customers and provide additional revenue for the reseller.

Where to Sell Liquidation Furniture

Resellers can choose to sell liquidation furniture at swap meets, open air markets, at their own brick and mortar furniture store, or online. Selling products online requires very little overhead. Resellers can store pallets of furniture at their home or in a storage unit. Using online platforms like eBay, Amazon, or other auction websites allows resellers to reach more people in less time than any other method of selling.

DT Lots works directly with resellers, small businesses, and large organizations to help keep their shelves stocked. We offer a wide range of liquidation inventory from some the world’s biggest brands. Please contact us for more information about our available furniture pallets and truckloads.

Where to Buy Retail Store Returns at Wholesale Prices

January 12, 2021 By Carol Scheafer

Resellers and small businesses looking to purchase large amounts of retail store returns and shelf pulls need to make sure they partner with the right liquidation supplier. It’s important to locate a supplier that offers low prices and high-quality products. This not only helps ensure your business can make money, it also helps ensure the satisfaction of your customers. This is crucial if you wish to attract repeat business and referrals.

Partnering with an experienced retail store return supplier like DT Lots can help ensure long-term success. DT Lots gets new pallets of high-quality customer returns and shelf pulls daily. Our partners can purchase pallets or entire truckloads of quality merchandise right off our show floor in Texas. For businesses and resellers living outside of Texas, we offer convenient shipping options.

What Are Retail Store Returns?

When customers return products to major retailers, the retail store has to mark the item as used and cannot resell it in their stores. Considering the fact that most customer returns occur because items purchased didn’t fit properly or didn’t look as expected, most customer returns are brand new merchandise. Instead of throwing this perfectly good merchandise in the landfill, large retail stores resell customer returns to liquidation pallet suppliers like DT Lots.

Benefits of Buying Retail Store Returns

Because resellers purchase retail store returns at drastically reduced prices, they can pass the savings on to their customers and increase their chance of making a profit. Resellers can offer liquidation merchandise for sale online, at flea markets and other open-air markets, or through their brick-and-mortar store.

Since retail store returns come from major retailers and well-known companies, resellers give their customers peace of mind knowing they’re getting top quality products from some of the best brands. This could prove especially beneficial to resellers offering highly competitive products like electronics.

How to Buy Retail Store Returns

Anyone interested in starting their own business should consider purchasing retail store returns. Purchasing pallets of customer returns and shelf pulls allows resellers to begin making money immediately with very little overhead.

Before selling customer returns, resellers must locate a trusted liquidation merchandise supplier.

DT Lots has years of experience and offers a wide range of merchandise including electronics, bedding, sporting goods, general merchandise, groceries, and more. Please contact us for information about purchasing pallets or truckloads of quality retail store customer returns.

Buying and Selling Liquidation Pallets of Electronics Online

January 5, 2021 By Carol Scheafer

Ecommerce websites like eBay and Amazon have become extremely popular platforms for resellers. Using websites like these allows entrepreneurs, small business, and even large companies to reach more people in less time than possible with any other platform. However, it’s important that resellers understand this highly competitive market. With just a little research and the right liquidation partner, resellers stand to make significant profit reselling liquidation electronics online.

Liquidation Pallets of Electronics

Many resellers offer electronics for sale online. With so many available, it can be difficult for resellers to get their products noticed. One of the best ways to stand out above the competition is to offer high quality electronics for less. This simply isn’t possible if the reseller pays full price.

Purchasing liquidation electronics pallets gives you access to high-quality products at a fraction of the price. When resellers pass this cost-savings on to the customer, they increase the chance that online shoppers will buy.

Where to Buy Customer Return & Overstock Pallets of Electronics

Many liquidation pallet providers exist, but they don’t all offer the same quality or service. Many wholesale suppliers mark-up the cost of their electronics pallets to help their business. This doesn’t leave much room to make money. It’s important to locate a respected liquidation pallet supplier with years of experience in the industry. The liquidation supplier you choose should offer quality electronics at deeply discounted prices.

DT Lots has a rich history dating back to the early 2000s. We offer a wide range of customer returns, overstocks, and liquidation pallets. We offer pallets of electronics from leading brands.

Selling Liquidation Electronics Online

Once you’ve located a quality liquidation pallet supplier, it’s time to list your products up for sale. Make sure to take several high-quality photos. Using a backdrop and appropriate lighting helps make your business appear more professional. When creating your listing, include specific details about your products that will interest the buyer. It’s important to list the product type and name in the title. This helps buyers locate your products quickly when they search the website.

Resellers and small businesses looking to make additional income or start a new business, could benefit from selling liquidation electronics online. DT Lots can help you get started! We have a wide range of electronics pallets available for sale. Please contact us for more information.

Top Reasons Why You Should Consider Reselling Liquidation Merchandise

December 29, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

Reselling liquidation merchandise offers numerous benefits to resellers and their customers. In addition to allowing business owners to spend less money on inventory, buying liquidated items makes it possible to offer high quality merchandise at significantly reduced prices.

Whether resellers keep their day job and offer liquidated merchandise on the side or decide to open a brick and mortar store, buying liquidated merchandise from a respected supplier just makes sense.

Freedom & Flexibility

When opening a business, owners need to locate, buy, or rent space to operate. Resellers have other options. Resellers can sell liquidation merchandise online through their own ecommerce website, auction website, or other selling platform. They can also choose to sell at open air or flea markets.

Many successful companies start their business selling their products at open air markets. In addition to allowing busines owners to introduce their business and their brand to the public, selling at open air markets teaches business owners how to deal with stiff competition. This can benefit them their whole career.

Get Brand Name Products for Less

Business owners spend a lot of time and money locating and purchasing products to offer for sale. Buying liquidation merchandise allows business owners to purchase high quality name brand products for less. The business owner can then pass these savings on to their customers. This increases customer satisfaction and the chance of repeat sales.

Easy to Get Into

Starting a new business costs a lot of money. Business owners must obtain enough space to operate, purchase merchandise to sell, and advertise their products. Entrepreneurs can reduce or eliminate a lot of this overhead by reselling liquidation merchandise.

When business owners purchase quality liquidation merchandise, they gain access to name brand products that people know and trust. Selling at flea markets allows them to get their name out into the public. This is often the fastest way to spread word of mouth. Resellers can start their business quickly. Instead of putting down a lot of money up front, resellers need very little to start their business.

DT Lots offers liquidation pallets stacked high with quality merchandise from leading retailers. Our partners gain access to name brand products. Please contact us for more information about how we can help you get started reselling liquidation merchandise.

How to Start Making Money with Liquidation Inventory

December 26, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

Reselling liquidation inventory is an excellent way to make money fast without spending a lot of money up front. When done right, resellers stand to make impressive revenue.

Read on to learn how to start making money selling liquidation inventory.

Determine the Types of Products You Want to Sell

Before selling anything, you need to decide what types of products you’d like to sell. Depending on what you’re familiar with, this might be electronics, home appliances, clothing, or furniture. Although some people decide to sell multiple types of products, it’s typically best to start with one then increase your offerings as you grow.

Once you’ve determined your market category, you’ll need to conduct some market research. Consider your target market and demand for your products. This will help you determine the best platform for selling your inventory.

Locate a Reliable Liquidation Supplier

After conducting market research, you’ll need to find a liquidation supplier. Partnering with a trusted supplier helps ensure the quality of goods received. It’s important to find a supplier that offers a variety of goods and a continuous supply of liquidation merchandise. Even if you don’t think you’ll want to expand your offerings now, your goals might change in the future. Choosing a supplier that offers different types of liquidated merchandise leaves room for growth.

Obtain a Resale Certificate

Once you’ve found a reliable supplier, it’s time to get your resale certificate. This important certificate enables you to resell liquidated merchandise on popular websites.

Different states have different names for this certificate. Visit your state’s Department of Revenue website to learn how to apply and obtain the necessary certificates.

List Your items for Sale

You have many choices when it comes to reselling liquidation inventory. During your market research, you should have figured out the best way to sell to your target audience. While many people choose to resell liquidation inventory on ecommerce websites like eBay, you may also choose to sell your items at flea markets or through your own brick and mortar business.

When pricing items for sale, list your products at or just below their market value. This helps ensure the most competitive pricing. Just make sure to consider factors like shipping, taxes, and selling fees when determining your prices.

DT Lots provides a wide variety of liquidation inventory to resellers and businesses. Contact us to learn how to start making money reselling liquation inventory.

Planning to Buy Liquidated Goods for Resale? Make Sure You’re Prepared

December 18, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

Reselling benefits retail stores, resellers, and consumers. In addition to keeping overstock, customer returns, shelf pulls, and closeouts out of our landfills, purchasing liquidation inventory allows resellers to start selling fast with very little up-front cost. Because resellers pay less for liquidation merchandise, they are able to pass these savings on to their customers.

Entrepreneurs and business owners looking to resell liquidation inventory must consider some important factors before purchasing their first liquidation pallet or discounted truckload.

Storage Space

Although reselling liquidation goods doesn’t require as much up-front cost as other resale businesses, you still need to think about how and where you’ll store your merchandise. This is especially true if you plan to purchase entire truckloads of discounted goods.

Paying for Liquidated Goods

Before buying anything, you need to know how you will pay for the discounted merchandise you purchase. You will need to pay up-front for your merchandise as well as any shipping and storage charges.

Learn About State and Federal Laws Related to Resale

Requirements for resellers vary by state and county. It is up to the reseller to learn about the laws that apply to them. In order to resell merchandise on most U.S.-based platforms, resellers need to obtain a resale certificate. Many counties require resellers to obtain a business license as well.

Gather Information About Your Liquidation Inventory Supplier

When choosing a discount inventory supplier, it’s important to do your research to locate a trusted company with several years of experience. It’s also important to find a supplier that offers a wide range of inventory to choose from. Even if you don’t plan on offering different types of products now, selecting a supplier with a large selection of inventory leaves room for growth in the future.

Identify the Best Platform to Sell Your Products

Depending on the types of items you plan to resell, you may choose to offer liquidated goods for sale on online platforms like Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, or Alibaba. Some resellers choose to resell liquidated merchandise at flea markets and swap meets.

It’s important to research the types of people that are most likely to purchase the items you plan to sell. This will help you determine the best platforms to resell your inventory.

Reselling Liquidation Inventory

December 11, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

Starting your own business takes a lot of research and planning. In addition to determining the space and people needed to run the business, entrepreneurs must decide what types of products to offer and how to effectively market and sell them to consumers.

Choose a Selling Platform

In order to begin making money without a lot of overhead, many entrepreneurs begin by selling products online. Selling products online does not require business owners to locate and maintain a retail store. All that is needed is adequate space to store inventory, a website where consumers can purchase products, and the shipping supplies needed to send products to the end user. Most online shops start as small operations then add more people and products as their business grows.

Another popular option, selling products at flea markets or swap meets requires minimal investment. Although vendors need a couple of people to run the booth and adequate space to store products, reselling merchandise at flea markets allows resellers to earn additional revenue fast. Resellers often use swap meets to get local consumers familiar with their products as they grow their business.

Resellers often face tough competition. Before selling anything, entrepreneurs need to determine creative ways to reduce costs and get a leg up on their competition. Purchasing and reselling liquidated inventory enables resellers to sell quality merchandise at a lower price point than other sellers.

What is Liquidated Inventory?

Liquidation is how large retail chains dispose of surplus merchandise. Liquidated inventory includes overstock item, returns, closeouts, and refurbished/reconditioned products.

Through contracts with large retail chains, businesses like DTLots purchase this inventory and resell it at heavily discounted prices to small businesses and resellers.

Choosing a Supplier

In order to ensure success, it’s important to partner with a trusted supplier. Several liquidated inventory sellers do not keep their inventory stocked, leaving resellers waiting for new products to arrive. This creates problems, especially as the reseller’s business grows and customers become more reliant on their products. When choosing a supplier, resellers should look for a company with a good reputation for fast delivery of a wide range of quality merchandise.

Final Thoughts

Reselling liquidated inventory enables entrepreneurs and small businesses to make significant income. However, it’s important that resellers take their time when selecting a supplier and deciding how to sell their products.
